Synopsis:
A dispassionate angel is demoted to the role of "grim reaper" and given her first assignment; kill an aging man battling Alzheimers. There's only one problem, the old man is her father and his landlord is evicting him tonight by any means necessary.
Characters:
Kelli: Caucasian female in her 20s
Leo: Caucasian male in his 60s to 80s
Landlord: Male in his 30s to 50s.
Crony: Male in his 20s to 50s.

Saturday, February 13 at the CMB Building Studio 4D from 2:00pm to 3:30pm for the role of Kelli

There will be lines ready for you at the audition. The chosen female lead will be notified Saturday evening and will need to come in Sunday at 2:00pm to read with the Leos.

For a production of the recreation of a scene from Pineapple Express. Only Dale Denton and Saul Silver are needed as this will only be one scene between the two of them and no one else. We will be filming pages 84-87 or so. This is the scene after the phonebooth where Dale and Saul have a fight.
Race will not affect the casting decision for this clip; actors of any race may apply for this position. However, actors must be male and between the ages of 20-60.
This is an unpaid production directed by a University of Texas student. Location of auditions will be announced in the reply email sent for serious actors. While the exact location cannot be disclosed over this post, it will be on UT Campus most likely in or near the Communications building.

Path of the Righteous Man is an adaptation of the timeless story of 2 Samuel’s David and Bathsheba set in the modern backdrop of a small town courthouse and police precinct.

Casting for Training Video for Worldwide Audience

VIR Productions is casting for a training video for a worldwide audience. This is a paying project.
The training video is for a client in China and focuses on actors who may not speak English very well. This is perfect for those who can speak English with an authentic accent from a country outside of the US (China, India, Australia, etc.) or for those who English is a second language.
The set-up is in an office where managers will present information to employees through video chat, voice mail and text. This means the manager will speak directly to the camera to ask "the audience" (which could be any employee around the world) what they think they should do to resolve issues the managers present. Actors need to be comfortable speaking directly to the camera and have their personality come through so that the audience is engaged and motivated.
The shoot dates are Tuesday, February 16th and Wednesday, February 17th (all actors won’t be needed for both days or all day). The location for the shoot is near I35 and Parmer Lane, Austin, TX 78753. The address and directions will be provided.
Characters (These ethnicities and accents are flexible):
Tommy Lin: Preferably a Chinese man, Age 30s-50s and speak English, but not necessarily well.
Mo Ang: Asian female, Age 30s-50s, able to speak with authentic asian accent.
Susan McKay: Female, Age 30s-50s, Caucasian, preferably not from the US or able to create an authentic accent not from the US.

The Gaslight Baker Theatre announces auditions for "Divas: A Night of Music" to be held Monday and Tuesday, 2/8 and 2/9.
Auditions will take place 7:00 - 9:00 at the theatre, 216 S. Main St. in Lockhart, TX. The production will showcase popular songs from the 1920's to present time and include show tunes. Opportunities exist for duets, group numbers, and solos. You can audition as a soloist or as a group of 2 or more.
Female singers of all ages are encouraged to come. Bring a prepared piece of 16 bars or longer and sheet music for accompaniment. You may also sing acapella. We will have an electronic keyboard for use if you provide your own accompaniment. You may be asked to demonstrate an ability to follow light choreography, please dress accordingly.
Show dates are March 12 - 27, Fridays and Saturdays, with two matinee offerings, Sunday 3/21 and Saturday 3/27.

Angie (female, 25-35, all races): a newlywed and go getter who's caught in an uncomfortable situation. While the piece is comedic, the role must be played in a serious tone. She's the straight (wo)man in an awkward situation. Must have comedy timing and strong reaction chops.
Beth (female, 35-45, all races): the head football coach's wife who's sweet but a little nuts. The character is over the top but played in a serious tone. Comedy timing a plus. Movie doesn't work without her strong presence.
Coach Lou (30-60, all races): No lines but will be heavily featured in short. Fit. Must be comfortable being filmed without shirt.

Though he is the head of the Records department at the Ministry of Information, Kurtzmann seeks help from Sam, his employee and close friend, regarding a discrepancy within the Ministry. Sam offers several suggestions, leading Kurtzmann through the steps, doing anything he can to help. Though in the original film, Kurtzmann is a male character, this exercise will open the role up to either male or female cast, as there may be a romantic connection between Sam and Kurtzmann.

UT Directing Workshop scene seeking two actors for below characters:
Allie: A young woman 23-28 years old; Needs to communicate effectively with body language and facial expression. Needs to be thin and ladylike.
Noah: A young man 23-28 years old; Needs to communicate effectively with body language and facial expression.
Project Information: Actors will be involved in a scene from a movie that has already been produced. The director and the actors will work from the original movie script, which has already been proven material. The actors and the director will have a chance to remake a Hollywood scene from scratch. This will be a great opportunity and experience for actors to work with great written material.
Scene Synopsis: The scene involves a young man and woman who meet again after not seeing each other for seven years. These two people had been lovers in the past, specifically they had been their first love.
Auditions: Location will be at UT campus. More information to be announced to the interested parties.
Rehearsal Dates: Monday night, Feb. 8 & Thursday Night, Feb. 11
Shooting Dates: Febuary 19-21, 2010 or Febuary 26-28, 2010. To be discussed with interested parties.
Compensation: No pay. Zero budget Film. Although meals and a DVD copy will be provided.

UT graduate student seeking cast for "Post-Racial", a short comedy about a screenwriter's quest to eliminate all racial stereotypes from his screenplay.
The film will be shot in HD, February 26th through March 7th, and will feature multiple actors playing the same characters. We are still auditioning for the following characters:

The Movie Trailer for
Wonder 8 (The Tree Man).

This feature length film, tinkering on the boarder of
Science fiction and dark comedy, takes you on a
twisted journey through the life of Sphaden; a young
man in his late 20's with zero goals or desires. He
has a love for trees and an addiction to Valium that
help him cope with abandonment issues and a broken
family. After a failed attempt at looking for a job,
he comes into contact with the strange Professor
Sterling and helps the Professor cope with the moral
struggles behind his ability to turn people in to
tree's and to replicate Space Aliens most sacred of
all wonders (WONDER 8) The Tree Man.
Sphaden's assistance in the Professor's struggle puts
him in several bazaar situations and gives him the
worldly and other worldly understanding he needs to
realize that his desire is to become a tree.
I am only casting for the movie trailer at the moment
and will cast the remaining parts as soon as a sufficient
budget is found.
Characters:
Sphaden: Caucasian male in his mid 20's.
Must be able to grow facial hair.
Professor Sterling: African American male late 40's.
Must be able to grow facial hair.
Professor's Daughter: Light skinned African American female in her mid 20's. (She sympathizes for her father, but thinks he should ignore his recent moral struggle and continue to nurture his creation).
20 Year Old Sphaden: Young Caucasian male between 18 and 21 with a young face. (Sphaden was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, but has stopped taking his prescribed medication and is beginning to experiment with other drugs).
Must be able to grow facial hair.
Crystal: (Sphaden's ex-girlfriend) Dark skinned Hispanic female in her mid 20's. (Crystal Leaves Sphaden because of an addiction to Valium that caused him to lose his job).

Acting auditions will be held Thursday, February 25 at the Dougherty Art Center from 5:00pm to 9:30pm.
There will be lines ready for you at the audition.
Filming is expected to take place on the 9th,10th, and 11th of April dates are subject to change and you will be notified if casted.

Open Casting Call for and UT Production MFA film to be shot this February in Austin, TX.
My name is Gaia Bonsignore and this is the casting call for a scene exercise for the UT Graduate Film Program.
I will be shooting a scene from the film "Harold and Maude".
Parts Available:
Harold: 16 to 25 years old smart, depressed, intelligent guy who discovers life with his first love. Maude.
Maude: 60 to 80 years old Lady, expressive, vibrant, enthusiastic yet wise.

We are holding a second round of auditions in February for our Mock-Trailer. Date, Time and Location are TBA. Feature film under consideration for funding.
Madam Hack's House of Hostile Hussies is about two girl gangs, a roller derby mafia called "The Sadistic Sweethearts" and a skateboarding street gang of cold blooded assassins called "The Cut Throat Cuties." They are fighting over power, money and one man. This man is said to hold the answer to all their problems. These women will kill each other and die just to hear one word from his mouth. But most of all The Cut Throat Cuties are fighting to overthrow Madam Hack, the leader of the Sadistic Sweethearts and ruin her idea of revolution and sisterhood.
If you are looking for a movie that finally lets women kick serious ass, be naughty and nice, and break every iconoclastic stigma of what a woman's role is in movies, then, this is the audition for you! We are looking for women with brass ovaries, moxie and lots and lots of attitude! The shy and timid need not apply. This is an action/comedy/dark comedy. Skateboarding and roller skating experience a plus! All cast members will be required to learn staged combat.
All ethnicity's encouraged to apply, must be 18+.
This is a no pay gig, however we are offering a copy of the DVD, film credit, the chance to be cast in the feature, and of course all meals paid.

Synopsis: After a mix-up with his hotel reservation in the city, a young, overworked business traveler finds himself at a run-down out-of-town motel. It is New Years Eve. A young woman runs the place for her ailing mother, and counts the days to her wedding. Alone, Indian, and with no-one else for company, they share a smoke - and the idea of belonging. He came to the US, and she is on her way to India - both in pursuit of a place to call their own. Over the course of one night, dreams and disillusionment will come to a head and the meaning of love, home and belonging will all be redefined for two foreigners in a foreign place.
